Malay for Permanent Residency (PR)

Language and Social Integration

There is no one size fits all formula when it comes to getting permanent residency in Singapore. The government looks at each application individually and decides whether or not it wants that person as a permanent resident based on their skills and qualifications.

The government has also set up schemes, such as the SkillsFuture Initiative, which provides funding for courses, training and scholarships to help foreigners become more employable.

Current recommendations are that you should know English and at least one of the four main local languages (Malay, Mandarin, Tamil) to display social integration within your application. This would boost your chance of being successful in your Permanent Residency (PR) application, particularly if you’re looking to work for multinational corporations. A lot of MNCs are now looking for employees who can speak more than one language.

This is a good opportunity for those who want to work and live in Singapore.
